Free Loan FAQs

How much can I borrow?

For your first, free loan, you can borrow up to $500.

The amount you can borrow will be dependent on your income. Check our calculator to see how much cash you could walk out with.

If you need more than $500, you will need to apply for an Express Loan (Express Loans over $500 do not qualify for the first loan free offer), or you could pawn an item of high value.

Do you do credit checks?

A credit check is part of our application process, combined with other checks we complete using our own Responsible Lending Guidelines. However, we also take into account your current circumstances, not just your credit rating. Check out our Bad Credit loan page if you're concerned about your credit rating.

Can I repay my Free Loan early?

You sure can, and you won't be charged any penalty or fees for doing that. We encourage our customers to pay back their loans as fast as they can!

What happens if I miss a payment?

On the first dishonoured payment, we'll send you a text message alerting you to a missed payment. If you contact us immediately and make a manual payment, you won't incur any default fees.

If you don't reply to the text message, we'll continue to try to contact you by text message, phone, and email.

  • Day 1 – 2: Send you a text message alerting you to a missed payment asking you to contact us.
  • Day 3 – 4: Also attempt to contact you by phone and email.
  • Day 5: We'll extend your loan agreement for an additional pay period.

If we extend your loan term, you'll need to pay the interest for the additional pay period/s. Have a look at our Costs page to understand the fees, interest and charges for an extension and the dishonoured payment fee.

What happens if I stop payment of my free loan?

Our staff will attempt to contact you to discuss your situation and try to assist you in any way possible.

  • Week 1: Attempt to contact you by email, phone, and text.
  • Week 2: Attempt to contact you through your alternative contacts and work (if applicable).
  • Week 3 onwards: Continue to attempt contact until the loan reaches 'under collection' status. This occurs when the interest and fees are equal to the original loan value. Once the loan is placed under collection, the debt is listed with a external debt collection agency.

Does the loan have any hidden fees?

We make our fees and rates as transparent as possible. When you take a loan with us, all fees are clearly described in the loan document, and we'll discuss these with you when you're going through the application process. If you'd like more information on our fees, check out our costs page.

Pawn Loans FAQs

What can I bring in for a pawn loan?

We accept all sorts of things. Check out the most common items here.

What if I have bad credit?

No worries! Since a pawn loan is made against an item of value that you own that we hold until repayment, we aren't concerned with your credit rating.

What's the maximum I can borrow?

It all depends on the condition, age and resale value of the item you're bringing in to pawn.

Can I have more than one Pawn Loan?

There's no limit to the number of pawn loans you can have at any one time.

Can I pay my Pawn Loan off?

We encourage our customers to repay their loans early, so you definitely can. The sooner you do, the less interest you pay!

When I've repaid my Pawn Loan, can I come back for another Pawn Loan?

Absolutely. You can bring an item in for a pawn loan at any time. If you bring back an item you've pawned previously, the loan will only take a few minutes.

Will my item be sold if I don’t repay my loan?

Yes, but this is the last resort. We'll contact you leading up to and when the contract expires. But if we don't hear back from you, we’ll auction the item to recover our costs.

Are my goods safe while held in your branches?

Absolutely. We take good care of your items, and we take security seriously. Your goods are safe here.

Can I bring in more than one item?

Absolutely. That's a good option as it gives you and us more flexibility over loan amounts as one item may be a higher value than the others, or, we can do multiple loans for you at once.

What happens if I can't pay to redeem my item but still want to get it back?

No problem. You can extend the contract for a month by paying the interest for that month by simply jumping on the My Superloans app, and following the instructions or come into the store and one of our staff will help you out.
